The Star
|April 04, 2025
THE Lions made a few changes to their side to strike a balance in fielding and resting key players as they start a quarterfinal place in the Challenge Cup in a spot in the top eight in the United Rugby Championship.
The Lions will be on besting Edinburgh at the Hive Stadium (kick-off tonight) in the Scottish capital tonight and playing an easier performance than what was the case last weekend in Glasgow.
Head coach Ivan Rooyen selected the exciting starring XV on Thursday for the round of 16 clash in the EPCR competition.
The inclusion of Morne van den Berg at scrumhalf should provide the Johannesburg outfit with some attack-ing impetus. Not that this assessment also soon did not do well in his many ry-enforced reference, but Van den Berg brings a different dimension to their attack if they plan to running brand or copy, the tactical looking at scrumhalf and from his halfback.
Quan Horn, will have to be on point. Van den Berg will resume his halfback partnership with Gianni Lombard as the Lions' two game makers.
