ALLEVIATING THE BURDEN
THE Department of Home Affairs has unveiled a proactive initiative aimed at alleviating the burden of securing essential travel documents for South Africans during the bustling festive season.
With a keen focus on service accessibility and efficiency, selected Home Affairs offices will extend their operating hours, rendering invaluable assistance to citizens preparing for year-end travel.
Starting from December 8 to December 19, and returning from January 5 to January 16, 2026, selected offices will remain operational for an additional two hours each day. This means these offices will close at 6pm, providing much-needed flexibility for those needing to process Smart ID Cards and passports.
