Woman stalked boss of Co-op for months after being barred

NIGHTMARE neighbour Mandy Birch claimed to have armed herself with a knife and was planning to murder a man in her street.

The 55-year-old told a call taker at Victims Gateway she was going to take matters into her own hands and kill the neighbour who had smashed a window at her property.

North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard she also stalked the manager of Co-op in Fenton for seven months after she was banned from the store. She threatened to 'do him in' and told him he was going to 'get it'.

Now Birch has been sentenced to 10 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months.

Prosecutor Lee Stone said Victims Gateway rang the police on January 31, 2023, after receiving a call from Birch.

Mr Stone said: "She had called to complain how the police were not doing anything in relation to a neighbour.

"Birch told the call taker she was going to take matters into her own hands and murder him.
