VALE BOSS DARREN MOORE REGARDS HIS BRISTOL ROVERS COUNTERPART DARRELL CLARKE AS A FRIEND BUT WILL BE TRYING TO BEAT THE FORMER VALIANTS MANAGER TODAY. DAN NEWBOULD REPORTS ...

- DAN NEWBOULD

PORT Vale boss Darren Moore says he holds the FA Cup in the 'highest regard' as his side look to reach the famous third round when anything can happen.

Vale welcome Bristol Rovers this afternoon, managed by their former manager Darrell Clarke.

Moore revealed at his pre-match press conference: "For me personally, the FA Cup is the cup competition. Watching as a kid, seeing the bus come down Wembley Way, all eyes were on it. I'm really grateful to have played in it as a professional and really grateful to be managing now. I hold it in the highest regard.

"It's a special competition. The players know. We're going with every bit of detail in preparation for it.

"The game will be different. We've got a previous manager and a friend of mine coming back.
