VALE MAY BE 11 POINTS FROM SAFETY BUT JORDAN GABRIEL IS NOT GIVING UP...

JORDAN Gabriel is confident Port Vale can go to Mansfield Town and win for only the fifth time this season in League One.

The 27-year-old wing-back is ready to fight for his place in the league side after returning from injury in the EFL Trophy win against Bolton Wanderers.

Gabriel played one half and will need to ease back in but he is prepared to work hard to regain his match sharpness.

Today's match against Nigel Clough’s Stags is a crunch meeting and one Vale really have to win to build on the victory against Blackpool last time out in the league.

“Every game, you want to go and win," said Gabriel at the club's pre-match press conference.

“There's no reason why we can't go and win there. That's the mentality we've got and we all know there's nothing else we want other than three points.”
