Hospitals deliver extra 55,000 appointments in 12 months

STAFF at two hospitals have delivered an extra 55,000 appointments in 12 months to help reduce waiting lists for patients across North Staffordshire

MPs Gareth Snell and Leigh Ingham say the progress at Royal Stoke and County Hospital in Stafford highlights the 'incredible' hard work of staff working for the University Hospitals North Midlands Trust and the 'substantial' investment by the Government.

News of the extra appointments comes after it emerged that waiting lists for some of the longest waits across the two hospitals have been cut by 54 per cent - with almost 3,000 people who had been waiting 'far too long' for treatment getting the care they needed.
