Upgrade underway for electricity grid hit by power cuts

More than 1,200 homes lost connectivity last month
ENGINEERS are carrying out a major project to help tackle power cuts in a village.
National Grid have been in Endon since last month to 'reinforce' the neighbourhood's electricity network.
It comes at a time when more than 1,200 homes lost power in the area at the end of November.
Now engineers are providing 'alternative feeds' for use during cut situations.
A stretch of The Village, off the A53, has been dug up as part of the second and final stage.
