MUM-OF-TWO Chantelle Shaw has been banned from football matches for three years after she had a flare at a Port Vale match.

- Sentinel Reporter

The 31-year-old attended Vale's last home game of the season against Gillingham on May 3 and was handed the flare. She put it down her bra so it would not be found by stewards. At the end of the game she took out the flare but was not sure how to light it so passed it to another supporter who lit it and gave it back to her.

She held it for five to 10 seconds before throwing it. It hit another supporter on the back. Now she has been handed a three-year football banning order at North Staffordshire Justice Centre.

Prosecutor Suzanne Swindail said Shaw attended Port Vale's last game of the season against Gillingham on Saturday, May 3.
