Tesco 'sorry' after couple fined £70

SUPERMARKET giant Tesco has apologised to a couple - after they wrongly received a £70 parking fine.

Blythe Bridge shoppers Craig and Marie Astbury had left Tesco Meir Park with their groceries at 9.52pm on December 16 and used the in-store pharmacy at 7.33am the next morning.

But cameras never clocked Craig's vehicle leaving the car park on the night of December 16 and they were accused of parking for more than 10 hours. Now Horizon Parking - which operates the car park - has quashed the penalty.
