Silverdale celebrating third win but only by losing fewer wickets!

Hosts Silverdale continued their fine start, although they prevailed by losing fewer wickets than the Moorlanders in the weekend encounter after both sides totalled 174.

Silverdale batted first and managed to navigate their way to 174-9 from their 40 overs.

Omar Ali (31), Matthew Moore (30) and Toby Degg (24) made the most progress with the bat.

Louie Welford, Sam Akram, Jack Winfield and David Wilson all claimed two wickets for Cheadle.

Joshua Jackson top-scored with 37 in reply and there were solid contributions from Sam Rushton (27no), Ryan Elwell (26) and Ryan Day (21).

However, Cheadle were bowled out for 174 - thanks to double strikes from Matthew Deyzel, Ali and Moore - to earn Silverdale the points and inflict a first defeat on their rivals.

Sandbach’s unblemished start was ended as they lost by three wickets at home to Barlaston in a high-scoring encounter.

The Cheshire hosts looked to have put themselves in a decent position to extend their winning run as they posted 233-6 from their allocation.

Ather Abid fronted their batting bid, which featured 12 fours and three sixes, while support was forthcoming from Jack Collett (30) and Finlay Spreadbury (27). Jack Davies claimed a couple of wickets.
