Tributes to Sir David Knox after death aged 92

- Sentinel Reporter

TRIBUTES have been paid to a dedicated MP who served constituents in Parliament for 27 years.

Sir David Knox, who represented Leek from 1970 to 1983 and the renamed Staffordshire Moorlands constituency until 1997, has died aged 92.

Now Kenneth Maxwell, Sir David’s stepson, has paid tribute to the former Conservative Party politician after his death on September 14.

Sir David was born in Lockerbie, Scotland, and grew up there before obtaining an honours degree in economics at the University of London.

Kenneth said: “After National Service in the Royal Air Force, he trained in the printing business and held management positions in the industry before being engaged in the management services in the motor industry.
