Brother says 'they've signed his death warrant' if it's not replaced by other means

- Thomas Cooper

THE family of a former Staffordshire Police officer requiring 24-hour care have criticised the NHS after his care funding was removed.

Anthony David says NHS decision-makers are 'playing financial ping pong with the lives of the most vulnerable'.

It comes as his brother - 60-year-old Keith David - has had Huntington's disease for the past decade which has left him unable to move, communicate, and take care of himself.

Keith currently receives 24-hour care in an assisted-living home in May Bank which was funded through a continuing healthcare plan (CHC).

But a review board has now cut Keith's care provisions.

Anthony said: "Huntington's disease is horrific. It’s literally as if the computer in your brain breaks and everything else in your body starts to fail as a result. You can imagine - double incontinence, not being able to communicate and everything else that goes along with it.
