Thirteen years ago, I hit rock bottom.

At 23 stones and a size 30, I'd lost all sense of self-worth. The weight of grief had become unbearable - I'd lost my entire family, including my 13-year-old son, and was struggling to cope. I had high blood pressure, pre diabetes, and two cancer battles later, I felt like I'd lost myself and didn’t see the end in sight.

I thought the best way was going for surgery, but after a gastric bypass and weight loss medication even that had failed to bring me the success I craved, I felt like a complete failure I'd tried everything, and nothing seemed to work, until I found Slimming World. With their support, empathy and understanding it showed me how I could lose weight.

My eating habits before i joined Slimming world were really poor, I would eat fast food takeaways, snack on the wrong things as i was a busy mum and working and i never really put myself first. I didn't do any kind of exercise as I just had no energy at all.
