Home's team help residents enjoy Christmas and new year

WHILE thousands of people in North Staffordshire unwrapped their presents and tucked into their turkeys on Christmas Day, some gave up their festive period to help others.

Carers were looking after elderly residents and people with disabilities who were unable to see their own families over Christmas.

At William Street, a home for people with learning and physical disabilities in Stoke-on-Trent, support worker Nichola Walker pulled out all the stops to ensure residents enjoyed their Christmas.

Instead of spending time with her family, Nichola helped residents with basic needs - including preparing meals, administering medications and being a friendly face to talk to.
