Go-ahead for eight homes next to pub

Fears about overdevelopment dismissed by planners
CONTROVERSIAL proposals for eight new houses next to a pub have now been approved.
Previously plans for four homes on the site behind The Bush in Silverdale, right, were refused last year.
The new plans include eight semidetached homes, four two-bedroom and four three-bedroom properties.
Previous concerns that noise from the pub would disturb residents led to the application being refused. However, planning officers at Newcastle Borough Council believe that mitigation measures will address concerns.
