BURGER FEELING CONFIDENT

WOUTER Burger points to a new consistency at Stoke City as a key to getting the best out of himself and his teammates.

Burger had played under three very different head coaches during his first 18 months in England - and playing with an ankle injury in the first half of last season too didn’t help him show the best of himself.

But he was nursed back to full fitness in the early days under Mark Robins, who took him out of the firing line at first so that he could be relied on more.

Stoke rejected a January bid from FC Midtjylland and the midfielder went on to be a key man as they secured Championship status on the final day of the season by drawing at Derby.
