141 canalside homes set to be built on derelict land
WORK to transform derelict land in Stoke-on-Trent which was cleared of houses two decades ago is expected to start next year.
Council officials have lodged plans for a canalside development of up 141 homes for the site at Pyenest Street in Shelton.
Most of the council-owned site, between Stoke Road, Bedford Road, Shearer Street and the Caldon Canal, has been cleared for some time.
But the council will demolish the remaining buildings to make way for the new homes.
These include the former Harry Ramjams pub and a canalside warehouse - both classed as 'non-designated heritage assets.
