2,949 'untidy' tenants told to clean up eyesore homes

ALMOST 3,000 'untidy' council tenants in Stoke-on-Trent have been ordered to clean up their eyesore homes in one year.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has inspected 17,285 properties across the Potteries over the last 12 months.

Officials identified 2,949 cases of untidy gardens, fly-tipping and graffiti blighting the city.

Now the authority's estate officers have worked with tenants to tidy and maintain their properties.
