Energy conservation a moral duty: H&UD Principal Secy Usha Padhee

“ENERGY conservation is not a statutory compliance, but a continuous effort for a better future for the coming generations,” asserted Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, while addressing a two-day regional workshop on the implementation of the Energy Conservation and Sustainable Building Code (ECSBC) in Eastern States, held in Bhubaneswar on July 3-4.

Padhee emphasised that such initiatives are crucial to achieving the vision of a developed Odisha and a developed India.

The workshop concluded with a key resolution to integrate ECSBC into the state's building regulations — marking a significant policy shift toward sustainable urban development.
