Chief Secy Ahuja stresses need to boost civil defence volunteer force

“EVERY critical moment must be treated as both an opportunity and a challenge — we must stay prepared at all times,” said Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Ahuja while chairing a high-level meeting on Thursday at Lok Seva Bhavan here to review the state’s readiness for the upcoming Civil Defence Exercise.
The meeting focused on strengthening the Civil Defence Volunteer (CDV) force across Odisha, particularly in industrial hubs and densely populated urban areas. Chief Secretary Ahuja emphasized the urgent need to expand the volunteer base and intensify their training, underlining their crucial role in disaster response and public safety.
