Vehicle Sales Up 6.8% in Q1

Vehicle sales in the country rose by 6.8 percent in the first quarter from a year ago, supported by strong demand for commercial vehicles.
A joint report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. and Truck Manufacturers Association yesterday showed that total vehicle sales reached 117,074 units in the January to March period from 109,606 units in the same period last year.
This was driven by the commercial vehicle segment, which posted a 13.9 percent growth in sales to 92,742 units in the first quarter from 81,395 units recorded a year ago.
