Vice President Sara Duterte will appear at the Department of Justice (DOJ)'s preliminary investigation into the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)'s complaint against her over her alleged threat to have President Marcos killed.

Speaking to reporters after a campaign sortie in Cagayan de Oro City on Wednesday, Duterte said she received a subpoena from the Office of the Prosecutor. She said she and her legal team are finalizing a response.

"My lawyer and I have already discussed the counter-affidavit.

We're just finishing it. I will appear (at the DOJ) because I need to take an oath," she said.

Duterte had skipped all of the NBI's invitations to speak during the course of its probe, saying it would not have mattered as the Marcos administration had allegedly predetermined the filing of the complaints.

The Vice President had also earlier cast skepticism on the fairness of the NBI investigation, stressing how the President had declared that he would not allow criminal acts to go unpunished.
