OSAPIEA Floats Minimum Bet, Stronger KYC to Curb Online Gambling

Regulations on setting the minimum bet and implementing stricter know-your-customer (KYC) requirements may help curb online gambling risks, according to the Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs (OSAPIEA).
"I think on stricter regulations, there are a few things that are possible there," SAPIEA Frederick Go said during the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines Economic Forum 2025.
Go said among the regulations that the government should seriously consider are raising the minimum bet and setting an entry-level requirement for the use of online gambling platforms.
