Negros LGUs Seek Fund Help

Local government units (LGUs) affected by the Kanlaon Volcano eruption last year are asking the national government for augmentation funds to continue to feed evacuees.

Donato Sermeno III, Office of Civil Defense (OCD) director for Negros Island Region, said the serving of hot meals to evacuees ended last Friday.

In the meantime, Sermeno said LGUs could tap their respective Quick Response Funds to feed evacuees in their jurisdictions.
