It's not about redemption

Opposing coaches Chot Reyes and Leo Austria aren't buying the theme of redemption in the PBA Philippine Cup Finals that begin at the Smart Araneta Coliseum tonight.
It's easy to weave the tale of redemption as Reyes was pilloried for Gilas' setbacks and Austria hasn't won a championship since regaining his job late last year.
But neither will admit the Last Dance is about them. Reyes is a jewel away from steering TNT to a rare Grand Slam while Austria is looking to notch his 10th career victory as San Miguel Beer coach. Both are tied with six Philippine Cup titles each so this will be the tiebreaker.
