Insurance Penetration Rises in Q2
The Philippine Star
|August 24, 2025
Insurance penetration in the Philippines rose slightly in the second quarter, as premium collections from both life and non-life insurance products posted double-digit growth, according to the Insurance Commission.
The IC said insurance penetration—the ratio of premiums to the country's gross domestic product (GDP)—increased to 1.8 percent from April to June.
In a statement, the IC credited the higher penetration to the sector's robust premium growth, which it said reflected both insurers' performance and the public's rising uptake of insurance products.
