HOW DINA BONNEVIE TURNED GRIEF INTO INSPIRATION

MY FRIEND DINA BONNEVIE EXUDED STRENGTH AND OPTIMISM when she recently appeared on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” We had a heartwarming conversation, and it was the first time I heard Dina's story.

It is indeed never easy to lose a loved one. The pain never goes away. It lingers, but life goes on. This is what Dina is trying to do right now as she finds renewed strength and purpose to move forward without her husband, DV Savellano, who passed away early this year.

Dina is feeling better now than last January, when she was in so much agony. Her grief caused her depression, and she even questioned God for the untimely passing of DV. She recalled asking why God wanted her to be alone while crying. Dina admitted that she kept wishing for God to take her already because she didn't want to be left behind.

Dina related that she heard a voice while talking to God in one of her darkest moments. “A voice was telling me, ‘Why do you keep focusing on what you don’t have? On what you no longer have? Why don’t you focus on what you still have to start all over again or to prosper yourself? To glorify My name or to do something that has purpose in your life?’”
