Families of Rody's victims live in fear — ICC counsel

Drug war victims' families are fearing for their lives after the International Criminal Court deferred the Sept. 23 hearing of detained former president Rodrigo Duterte, ICC assistant to counsel Kristina Conti said.

Duterte's camp received a list of witnesses to be presented at the trial, Conti told radio dzBB yesterday.

"The victims are scared because the Duterte family is not only influential, but they also have the capacity to get back at them. That's why they are afraid, especially since some of the witnesses were already named and made public as many victims applied (as witnesses) in his case," she said.
