Alex Eala's dream run came to an abrupt end at the hands of China's Sijia Wei, absorbing a 7-5, 6-2 loss to crash out of the Workday Canberra International yesterday in Australia.
The 19-year-old Filipina, on the heels of five straight wins all the way from the qualifying round, stood her ground early on with a crucial lead in the first set before yielding the last three games to the higher-ranked Wei, WTA No. 134.
