BSP to continue cutting rates – BMI

AMID GROWTH RISKS
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is expected to continue its monetary easing path amid low inflation and challenges to economic growth, according to research and analysis firm BMI.
“We expect the BSP to maintain a pro-growth policy stance amid growing economic uncertainty,” the Fitch Solutions unit said yesterday.
At its October meeting, the BSP slashed interest rates by 25 basis points, defying market expectations of a hold.
The BSP sees scope for a more accommodative monetary policy stance amid a moderated outlook for domestic economic growth.
