BBM expected to address online gambling during SONA

A network of digital advocates are expecting President Marcos to discuss his administration's plan to address the issue of online gambling during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) today.
During a forum in Quezon City, Digital Pinoys national campaigner Ronald Gustilo said it would be ideal for the President to issue an executive order (EO) strictly regulating online gambling while Congress is deliberating a legislative measure.
"It would be good if he will issue an EO while we are waiting for a law...that would be the most ideal because an EO can be automatically implemented," he said in Filipino.
Gustilo said they are hopeful that the President will "see through the logic" why it is more ideal to implement strict regulation instead of an outright ban.
