A ray of hope amidst today's political darkness

I have been closely following the discussions and debates Lregarding the impeachment of VP Sara Duterte.

One conclusion is that the most intelligent analysis of the Supreme decision is that of former Supreme Court Justice Adolf Azcuna, who is the country's foremost constitutional authority. Surprisingly, the first person who seemed to have simplified the issues and explained them in very understandable terms was Senate Minority Leader Tito Sotto. He is quoted to have said after the Senate vote on archiving the impeachment case, "I know for a fact once it is archived, it is dead.... May God have mercy on your decision." I have always thought of him simply as a comedian who was elected as a showbiz personality. Today, he has emerged as a credible statesman and defender of the rule of law.

In an effort to be objective, I have also tried to listen to the arguments of Senate President Chiz Escudero.
