Two arrested near Harur for denying haircut to Dalit youth

A 24-year-old hair dresser and his father, who allegedly refused to give a 17-year-old Dalit boy a haircut, were arrested under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on Saturday.

According to police, the 17year-old is a native of Kelaparai village near Harur and recently completed class 12. Along with his friend, he went to a salon for haircut on Thursday evening. But hairdresser C Yogeshwaran (24) allegedly refused to cut his hair and sent them out.
