Meenu Subbiah launches three luxury jewellery brands, each carrying its own aesthetic, philosophy, and purpose

JEWELLERY DESIGNER MEENU Subbiah is not simply releasing a collection—she is unveiling a story across time. With the launch of Vilasam, Vamsam, and Menaya, Meenu introduces three luxury jewellery brands, each carrying its own aesthetic, philosophy, purpose, and authenticity.

Meenu’s approach is refreshingly rare. Her family-run brand, Meenu Subbiah Diamonds, with its presence across Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Karaikudi, and even the US, continues to manufacture every single piece in-house—an ethos that has been upheld for over three decades.

“The idea behind presenting our three brands together was to highlight their distinct design languages and show how they each tell a story across time,” Meenu explains. “Vilasam draws inspiration from Chettinad’s rich culture, Vamsam celebrates India’s traditional craftsmanship, and Menaya looks forward with a modern perspective.”

ARE YOU AND I INDIAN CITIZENS?

THE question stings even sharper now than it did a year ago. Seventy-nine years after independence, after every flag-hoisting promise of a confident Indian Republic, after billions poured into digital identities that were sold as the unbreakable chain linking every Indian to the nation, Indians are still left clutching documents that the State itself now treats as scraps of paper in the rain.
