THE first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is scheduled to begin from June 24 and end on July 4.
All eyes are on the crucial election of Lok Sabha Speaker after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost the majority, though the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) crossed the 272-mark required to form the government.
The first three days will see newly elected members taking oath and the election of the new Speaker.
President Droupadi Murmu will address a joint sitting of both the Houses on June 27 and is likely to outline the new government's roadmap for the next five years.
Announcing the dates of the new Parliament session, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, "First Session of 18th Lok Sabha is being summoned from 24.6.24 to 3.7.24 for oath (or) affirmation of newlyelected members, election of Speaker, President's address and discussion thereon."
