Centre's reply sought over Cong appeal

The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a notice and sought a detailed response from the Centre and Election Commission of India (ECI) on Congress leader Jairam Ramesh's plea challenging certain amendments made to the Conduct of the Election Rules of 1961.
A two-judge bench of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar said, "They need to file their respective replies before the week commencing on March 17"
