OVER 50 medicines, including diabetes, hypertension, vitamins, calcium D3 supplements, bacterial infections, and acid reflux tablets, failed the quality tests by the drug regulator.
According to the Drugs Standards Control Organisation (CDSCO), which issued a 'Not of Standard Quality (NSQ)' alert for August, some of the top selling medicines manufactured by top pharma firms.
The medicines that were flagged as NSQ were paracetamol tablets 1p500 mg, anti-diabetic drug Glimepiride, blood pressure medicine Telma H (Telmisartan 40 mg), acid reflux medicine Pan D, and Calcium C and D3 tablets Shelcal, bacterial infections medication Cefixime Oral Suspension IP.
