Bihar economy logs 3.5 times growth in over 10 yrs: Dy CM

THE Bihar economy at current prices has grown 3.5 times, from ₹2.47 lakh crore in 2011-12 to ₹8.54 lakh crore in 2023-24, according to the state's Economic Survey report for 2024-25 presented by Deputy CM and finance minister Samrat Choudhary in the assembly on the first day of the budget session on Friday.

Choudhary said that the economic growth had taken place over the last two decades, improving socio-economic indicators. "As per the latest available estimates, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Bihar for 2023-24 was estimated to be ₹8,54,429 crore at current prices and ₹4,64,540 crore at constant (2011-12) prices," he said.
