'Sure success' to help TN youth get a shot at jobs

CHIEF Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday launched the Vetri Nichayam scheme, a new initiative aimed at providing free short-term skill training to unemployed youth aged 18 to 35, during the third anniversary celebrations of the Naan Mudhalvan scheme.
The Tamil Nadu government has allocated ₹100 crore for the first phase of Vetri Nichayam, with a target to train 75,000 youngsters over the next year. The scheme will be implemented in collaboration with leading training institutes and private companies to enhance employability and ensure job placement.
Training will be offered in 38 industrial sectors through 165 skill-based courses, delivered via more than 500 institutes across the state. To support accessibility, a dedicated mobile application named Skill Wallet was also launched, which will allow candidates to browse training options and employment opportunities.
