TNEB Staff Arrested for Accepting Bribe

An employee of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Police on Thursday for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹3,000 from a 67-year-old in exchange for providing an electricity connection to a newly-constructed house.
According to official sources, the accused, Kirupakaran (50), a foreman at the Virinchipuram Electricity Board office, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from a resident of Sethuvalai, near Vellore.
