A group of auto drivers staged a protest during the grievance redressal meeting held in Gudiyatham on Monday, demanding action against unlicensed autos plying illegally in Chemballi area.
The protesters alleged that autos were operating without permits on restricted routes, severely impacting the livelihood of registered drivers. In their petition, they urged authorities to crack down on the unauthorised vehicles and ensure that only permitted autos are allowed to ply.
