Siddu Not Appointed as OBC Panel Chief: CMO

Amid speculation over a potential shift to national politics, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's office on Sunday clarified that he has not been appointed chairman of the AICC OBC Advisory Council.
The clarification followed reports suggesting he had been named head of the council, sparking a political row and strong reactions from the BJP.
In a statement issued late Sunday, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said Siddaramaiah is only one among several members of the council and will merely host its first meeting in Bengaluru on July 15.
