In a new twist to Indian boxing saga, the Indian Olympic Association formed a three-member committee to examine the delay in election of Boxing Federation of India.

- Indraneel Das @ Chennai

According to a letter signed by IOA president PT Usha, the committee was formed after the sports ministry sent a letter asking them to find ways to resolve the impasse after the tenure of the BFI elected body got over on February 2.

The three-member committee will be headed by IOA's treasurer Sahdev Yadav, with executive committee member Bhupinder Singh Bajwa and lawyer Payal Kakra as the other two. What seems interesting is that Yadav and Bajwa had earlier objected to IOA president Usha forming an ad hoc committee when the BFI tenure was over in February.

So You Think You are an Empath?

In this epoch of information overload, we watch a thousand crises unfold every day, where the sacred mixes with the profane at top speed, where the latest war updates are followed in quick succession by clips on how to wear a mekhela chador the proper way, how to make naan on an overturned tawa, what Ji Chang Wook said at the Gucci launch. This is popcorn for the brain, a topic I have addressed in an earlier column; we ingest everything, gulp it down, then move quickly on to the next snippet. Who really has the time to linger?
