KHELO Bharat NITI 2025, the new sports policy approved by the Union Government, will help transform India to an advanced country in sports, said G Kishore, regional head & principal of Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) on Thursday.

He was speaking in a media conclave on the policy, organised by the Sports Authority of India's (SAI) regional centre here. The session, which aimed to discuss the transformative initiatives of the policy, was held at LNCPE.

Kishore presented the key aspects of the policy and its role in nation-building. "Even though the current performance of our athletes is commendable, we expect more people to step into the field. That is why implementation of a new policy has become the need of the hour," said the principal.

So You Think You are an Empath?

In this epoch of information overload, we watch a thousand crises unfold every day, where the sacred mixes with the profane at top speed, where the latest war updates are followed in quick succession by clips on how to wear a mekhela chador the proper way, how to make naan on an overturned tawa, what Ji Chang Wook said at the Gucci launch. This is popcorn for the brain, a topic I have addressed in an earlier column; we ingest everything, gulp it down, then move quickly on to the next snippet. Who really has the time to linger?
