'Upset' with rift & chaos, Cong high command summons Punjab leaders

WITH factionalism widening within the Punjab Congress over former CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s remarks that “SC representation in the party is inadequate”, the Congress high command on Thursday stepped in to address the infighting and ruled out changes in state leadership.
After the Congress Working Committee meeting, (CWC) members from Punjab met the AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, general secretary in charge Punjab Bhupesh Bhagel and others at Kharge’s residence for three hours in Delhi today.
In reply to a question that about 32 state leaders writing to Gandhi, Venugopal categorically made it clear that no groupism will be tolerated.
