Lookout issued for AP woman who 'abandoned' blind child at Koz MCH

Investigation reveals that she may have sold two other children prior to the incident

A WOMAN from Andhra Pradesh has been accused of abandoning her daughter with visual impairment at the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode after allegedly selling her two other children for money. The incident has sparked public outrage, following which a joint investigation has been launched by the Medical College police and Mananthavady police, who are currently on a manhunt for the absconding mother.

The accused has been identified as Lakshmi, a native of Andhra Pradesh, who later converted and took the name Naseema after marrying Ashik from Mananthavady. She is alleged to have abandoned their three-year-old daughter at the hospital a week ago. Police investigation has revealed that she also may have sold two other children prior to this.
