4 SPOs Among 7 Tarn Taran Youths Were Killed in 1993 Fake Gunfight
A special CBI court in Mohali on Monday sentenced five retired Punjab Police officials, including a former SSP and a DSP, to life imprisonment in a 32-year-old fake encounter case.
In 1993, seven youths of Rani Willa village in Tarn Taran district of the state were killed, four of whom were Special Police Officers (SPOs).
Those who have been given life imprisonment include: Former SSP Bhupinderjit Singh (61), former DSP Davinder Singh (58), former inspector Suba Singh (83), ASIs Gulabarg Singh (72), and Raghbir Singh (63).
