Modified Livestock Policy Lowers Insurance Premium

The State government has revamped the Livestock Insurance Scheme under the National Livestock Mission to protect farmers from financial losses due to livestock deaths.
The revised scheme, effective April 1, 2025, lowers premiums to 15% for beneficiaries, with the Central and State governments covering the remaining 85%—51% from the Centre and 34% from the State.
