To ensure safe flight operations during the monsoon season, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has come out with a revised circular highlighting additional safety measures and guidelines for airlines and pilots.

The guidelines are in light of an incident involving an Indigo flight from Delhi to Srinagar which was caught in a ferocious hailstorm en route, endangering the lives of 227 passengers. It had a miraculous escape with just the nose cone damaged.
