Need a Humane Approach to Empower Gender Minorities, Address Their Concerns

KARNATAKA State Women's Development Corporation chairperson G Padmavathi has directed officials to focus on empowering gender minorities, marginalized women and former Devadasis, emphasizing the need for a humanitarian approach to address their concerns.

During a visit to the Women and Child Development Department's Deputy Director's office here recently, Padmavathi reviewed the implementation of development programmes, held discussions with officials, and interacted with beneficiaries of departmental schemes.

She said that the government has been urged to allocate more funds in the upcoming budget to enhance the benefits provided under these schemes. "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has assured additional allocations in the next budget," Padmavathi said.
